Real-time Auxiliary System for Pressure Injury Prevention

Abstract

Pressure Injury is a type of skin injury that often affects bedridden patients with impaired mobility, especially the elderly. Despite the emphasis on prevention methods, population aging and increased life expectancy naturally contribute to the increase in the number of cases each year. Thus, in this work, it is proposed the development of a system with the functions of monitoring the bed position of the patient in real time, timing inertia and alerting the correct moment for the patient repositioning, in order to help correct execution of the decubitus change protocol (lying position). The system information will be available via web interface, with a three-dimensional image generated through the data collected in the automatic tracking of the patient's position.

Anderson Freire, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte

Graduated in Information Systems from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), lato sensu postgraduate in Computer Networks from the Open School of Brazil and Embedded Systems for Internet of Things by the Digital Metropolis Institute (IMD) / UFRN . He is currently a student of the Graduate Program in Science, Technology and Innovation of the School of Science and Technology of UFRN, in which he has developed an Internet of Things project applied to health. Professionally works as an Information Technology (IT) technician at the Seridó / Caicó UFRN Higher Education Center and also as a mediator professor at IMD - Pole Caicó. The areas of activity are: teaching, maintenance of IT infrastructure and participation in research and extension projects. Has experience in Computer Science with emphasis on Information Systems, such as: Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Internet of Things, Web Applications and Free Software.

Efrain Pantaleon, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte

Bachelor and Master of Physical Sciences from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Havana. PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (EPUSP) in 2004. He was an employee of Empresa Motores Taíno as a specialist in materials and product development. He was an employee of Aços Villares Company in the area of ​​engineering and maintenance management. He was a teacher at the Anhanguera College of Taubaté. He is currently Associate Professor at the School of Science and Technology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in the area of ​​Technological Business, working in technological entrepreneurship, industry 4.0 and renewable energy systems. Has experience in Tribe-systems, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Maintenance (automation, monitoring and signal analysis) and Strategic Planning. He is the founder of the Junior Company -EJECT, Incubator -inPACTA, the Axis of Technological Business and co-founder of the Professional Master in Science, Technology and Innovation, and is coordinator of the Technological Business Group and adjunct of the Cycles of Debates in Energy and Innovation CTC / CERNE.

Rummenigge Dantas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte

Graduated in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Master in Electrical Engineering from the Graduate Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Doctoral degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Has experience in the area of Virtual Reality, Distributed Systems and Mutimedia Applications, with emphasis on the development of Virtual Environments for Web.
