Abstract

Can a traineeship in an internship and employability office provide more enriching opportunities for entering active life? Our goal with this article is to provide an overview of the opportunities a traineeship (inside an internship and employability office working with active job search) offers. This case study has a quantitative nature. To obtain data we built an original questionnaire, applied online to all trainees of the ISCAP's Internship and Employability Office (IEO) since its creation. This research allowed to infer, trusting in the given answers, that these internships have helped to enhance the development of skills related to the programs area, as it would happen in any other entity, but also to go further in the development and using of communication and inter-relational skills. This internship in IEO was a moment to gather important tools to facilitate the trainees’ integration into the labour market in a more accurate way.

Zita Maria Romero Rodrigues Gonçalves, Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto - instituto Politécnico do Porto

Was born in Beira - Mozambique and came to Portugal in april of 1964. Has studied in primary and secondary schools in Porto, Portugal. She studied French at the Institut Français de Porto, from 1970 til 1975; and studied English in the British Council, (Porto) from 1976 till 1982. She has been Teacher of these courses: Business Assistance Simulation I and II, Documental Management and Archiving (in Business Assistance Program), Turistic Animation and Events Organization (in Turistic Activities Management only until 2016), Public Speaking (Erasmus and Criativity and Innovation Program), Business Communication Workshop/Atelie (in Business Communication Program); Administration Assistance and Multimedia (in Master of Administration Assistance, til 2016); ICT in Companies (until 2006); Shorthand in Portuguese, French and English (until 1999). After her PhD she has been speaker, moderator, promoter and organizer of several conferences in the knowledge areas of ICT and Education, Business Communication; Business Assistance; Management Assistance, inside and out ISCAP. She was co-builder and Coordinator of Business Communication Program at ISCAP-PP (2005-2013). She has travelled in Erasmus Mobilization, to Antwerp (Belgium, in 2019); to Lorient (Bretagne) - France, in 2013 and 2018; to Vilnius (University of Vilnius, Lithuania in 2015), Lithuania; Chambéry (Haute Savoie, France in 2009), . Every year, she has updated instruction in important areas concerning Public Speaking, Business Communication, Social Networks, Events Organization, b-Learning. She has been Orientation Teacher of Master Students belonging to the Master of Administration Assistance, ISCAP-PP, since 2012. She coordinates "Business Assistance and Organizational Communication" department at ISCAP-PP (2019). She represents her area in "Skills Certification and Equivalence Commitee" (2000-...).
