Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the 70% hydroethanolic floral extract of Salvertia convallariodora. The flowers were collected in a riparian Cerrado in Rio Verde, Goiás, Brazil. The extract was produced by maceration in a 70% hydroethanolic solution. Physicochemical analyzes were performed for organoleptic characteristics, yield, mass, moisture content, pH, total solids, refractive index, density, total flavonoids, total phenolic compounds, scanning in UV-Vis spectrophotometry, phytochemistry, hemolysis test. The following results were obtained, organoleptic (citrus-yellow, clear and aromatic), yield 9.18%, dry mass 16.85% moisture content 83.14%, pH 4.56, total solids 2.63%, index of refraction 1.2613 nD, relative density 0.853 g mL-1, flavonoids of 355.15 mg 100 g-1 and total phenolic compounds of 135.48 mg GAE 100 g-1, critical wavelength for UVC, various phytochemicals and hemolytic activity between 92.11 to 71.09%. The hydroethanolic floral extract of S. convallariodora proved to be rich in phytochemicals, photoprotective and hemolytic compounds.
