Variability of meteorological elements in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, 1993-2014 interval

Abstract

The present work had the objective of analyzing the variability of meteorological elements, precipitation, air temperatures (maximum, minimum and average), humidity, insolation and evaporation, for the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, based on data from the conventional meteorological station of the National Institute of Meteorology-INMET, interval 1993-2014. An analysis was carried out to identify possible trends in precipitation and temperature data, using linear regression and the Mann-Kendall test. The evaluated location has an average annual rainfall of 2,137 mm, with 1997 being the driest year        (1,639 mm), and 2014 the rainiest (2,686 mm). The month of July was the driest (71 mm), and the month of March the rainiest (274 mm). In July there were also the lowest average temperatures throughout the year, at 24.8 oC, while in October, the highest average temperatures, at 26.0 oC, were recorded. The data series did not show significant trends in increasing or decreasing precipitation and temperature.
